Dr Nikki Elkerton

Independent Doctor at New Town Skin Cancer & Skin Repair Centre

MBBS, FRACGP, Dip Skin Cancer Surgery, Adv Cert Dermoscopy 

After graduating with an MBBS from the University of Tasmania in 1993, Dr Elkerton worked as a General Practitioner in Tasmania and the United Kingdom for 13 years. During this time, she developed a keen interest in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer. She completed advanced certificates and diplomas in skin cancer medicine and surgery through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA) and HealthCert, and gained hands-on surgical experience assisting a plastic surgeon, performing flap repairs and skin grafts. Since 2010, Dr Elkerton has worked full-time in the field of skin cancer treatment.

Dr Elkerton takes a holistic and evidence-based approach to managing skin cancer, combining preventative strategies with non-surgical and surgical treatments tailored to each patient. She is passionate about early detection and effective management of skin cancers, aiming to reduce morbidity and improve long-term outcomes for her patients.
