Dr Tim Barnes established New Town Skin Cancer Centre in 2007. He holds a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine, a Skin Cancer Certificate, has completed the Advanced Surgical Skills course with the University of Tasmania, and has attended numerous skin cancer conferences for professional development. He practises at New Town Skin Cancer & Skin Repair Centre four days a week and has a keen interest in the early detection and surgical excision of skin cancer, as well as the aesthetic aspect of skin health.
Dr Barnes graduated from Flinders University of South Australia in 1986. He worked as a general practitioner at Somerset Medical Centre in Tasmania until 2000, before relocating to Hobart to work at Moonah Family Medical Centre, where he practised skin cancer medicine. Dr Barnes also established Stoke Street Family Medical Centre.
