Dr Kerry Whannel
Doctor at Caloundra Skin Cancer Centre
MBChB, FRACGP, Adv Dip Emergency Medicine
Dr Kerry has completed Professional and Advanced Certificates in Skin Cancer Medicine and Skin Cancer Surgery and is committed to the early detection, treatment and ongoing management of skin cancers. Her clinical expertise spans minor surgical procedures and preventive health care, with a strong focus on patient-centred communication and continuity of care.
Dr Kerry graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2000 and went on to complete extensive postgraduate training across surgical disciplines. After more than a decade working in surgery, she relocated to Australia, where she has practised for over ten years in both emergency medicine and general practice.
Before joining National Skin Cancer Centres, Dr Whannel held senior clinical and advocacy roles supporting improved health frameworks for young people with chronic conditions. She continues to uphold a strong commitment to patient advocacy and holistic care.
Outside of work, Dr Kerry enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
