Dr Dianne King sees patients with skin cancer, general dermatology and aesthetic medicine concerns and hence has an extensive waitlist.
Dr King graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1989. She practised as a general practitioner, starting out as an associate at Moonah Family Medical Centre before establishing her own general practice at Stoke Street Family Medical Centre and then New Town Skin Cancer Centre in 2007. The centre has now expanded to include skin repair and rejuvenation services and is one of the first in Tasmania to deliver these services in addition to skin cancer checks and surgical management.
Dr King began subspecialising in Skin Cancer Medicine over 15 years ago when she completed her master's degree in medicine (Skin Cancer) at The University of Queensland in 2011. After obtaining her Diploma in Dermatology from Cardiff University, Dr King developed a keen interest in the management of eczema, acne, psoriasis and rosacea. The natural progression of her career in skin work has seen her become a respected and passionate Aesthetic Doctor. Dr King strives to restore skin health, beauty and confidence for her patients and is passionate about achieving natural results. She holds a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.
In collaboration with Bond University, Dr King teaches Australia’s only university quality-assured courses in aesthetic medicine to other doctors across Australia and also delivers training to colleagues at our centre. She is widely respected in the aesthetics and skin cancer medicine industries and is frequently invited to attend conferences to upskill with leading experts in the fields. She regularly upskills through international courses in skin cancer surgery, dermoscopy and therapeutics. She is passionate about teaching younger generations about skills in dermoscopy and teaches medical students at the University of Tasmania, striving every day towards a world where nobody dies from skin cancer.
