Dr Maria Vartanyan holds Professional Certificates in Dermoscopy and Skin Cancer Surgery and an Advanced Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine. She is experienced in a range of topical and surgical skin cancer treatments and strives to deliver appropriate evidence-based recommendations based on individual patients’ needs. She is especially passionate about saving lives and improving patient outcomes using the latest technological advances, including state-of-the-art total body photography and dermoscopy.
Dr Vartanyan graduated with distinction in 2009 and spent several years gaining a wealth of experience working in different medical specialties before settling into skin cancer medicine, when she was trained as a general practitioner with a special skill in skin cancer through Eastern Victoria GP Training. She worked with Eastern Health, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, and Queensland Health and gained significant surgical experience during her hospital training. She regularly attends skin cancer workshops and conferences to advance her skills and has obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
