Managing teenage acne

Acne can have a devastating impact on teenagers' self-esteem, but often it's hard to know what you should do about it. If left too late, acne can cause scarring that is even harder to treat, so it's important to get on top of the problem early.

In this 2-minute video, Aesthetic Doctor Di King explains how acne in teenagers can be managed to achieve healthier and clearer skin.

Some of the triggers include:

  • Stress
  • Diet
  • Hormones
  • Poor skincare routine

What can we do about it?

  • Work out what's causing the acne
  • Identify the severity of the condition, which will determine the treatment options
  • Consider the teenager as a whole person, not just an acne sufferer!
  • Work out a treatment plan, which may include LED light therapy, antibiotics, topical skincare, and more
